DESCRIPTION:Crochet  is a traditional fiber art that can be used to make many things  including: decorative items, blankets, hats, accessories, clothing, and  amiguri - cute little animal figures. Crochet is a technique that cannot  be done by any machine therefore youth will be empowered to create in  this truly human-based method. Crocheting engages a 4-Hers Head and  Hands. They will learn to plan their project, gather materials, learn  the needed skills, execute their plan, troubleshoot problems, and  display their success.Meeting Time: Second Wednesday of the Month 5:30-7:00 pmMeeting Place: Sew What - 25 Seminary St. Suite 3Meeting Dates: Second Wednesday of each Month: 1/14, 2/11, 3/11, 4/8 and 5/13 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm. Youth  8-18 are invited to learn how to crochet and begin working on a crochet  project of their choice. Classes will be taught by the experienced  volunteers at Sew What and is open to youth of all experience levels,  including total beginners.  Youth who attend will also be prepared to  take more of the community classes and open workshops offered by Sew  What.Upon  starting, the $5 material fee will cover needed items like hooks and  yarn. This fee can be accepted at the first class in either cash and can  be waived if it would otherwise prevent a youth from participating.  Youth will be able to choose materials from the wide array of materials  stocked in the Sew What store. Youth under 14 should be accompanied by  an adult.Completed crochet projects can be entered into the county fair this summer by enrolled 4-Hers
