4-H Fair

The 2024 Cayuga County 4-H Youth Fair is Thursday, August 1 through Saturday, August 3 at the Union Springs Fire Department located at 257 Cayuga Street in Union Springs, NY.

Each summer, 4-H youth in Cayuga County have an opportunity to share and showcase the projects they've been working on, at the Cayuga County Fair. The public is invited to come and see what the youth in Cayuga County 4-H are doing in the areas of animal science, plant science projects, entomology displays, home economics and photography.

2024 4-H Youth Fair Important Dates & Schedule - TENTATIVE

Thursday, August 1st

  • 4:00–7:00 pm: Dairy Cattle and Livestock Move-in 
  • 6:00 pm: 4-H Youth Building Project Judging in Exhibit Tent at Union Springs Fire Department

Friday, August 2nd

  • 2:00 pm: 4-H Dairy Showmanship followed by Dairy Costume Class
  • 4:00 pm: 4-H Poultry Show
  • 5:00pm: Livestock Showmanship
  • 6:00pm: Dairy Costume Class
  • 7:00pm: Kid's Activity

Saturday, August 3rd

  • 10:00 am: 4-H Rabbit and Cavy Show
  • 11:00 am: Livestock Show (Goats, Hogs, Sheep & Beef)
  • 12:00 pm: 4-H Dairy Breed Show
  • 12:00-2:00 pm: Buyer Registration for Livestock Auction
  • 1:00 pm: Market Livestock Buyers’ Reception
  • 1:30 pm: Political Leaders' Show
  • 3:00 pm: 4-H Market Livestock Auction
  • 5:00 pm: Tentative Release Time for all 4-H Animals and Youth Building Projects
