Learn more about rabbit and cavy projects in 4-H. This clinic will cover the basics of choosing a breed, caring for your animal, and showing successfully. Great opportunity to learn about a new animal or take your 4-H project to the next level! Connect with other rabbit and cavy 4-Hers as well!
Valerie Horning, a rabbit and cavy showmanship expert, will be leading this clinic. She has been a member of American Rabbit Breeders Association, American Cavy Breeders Association and New York State Cavy Fanciers member for decades and a licensed cavy judge for more than 20 years. She has judged for the ACBA National convention. Valerie is a homegrown 4-Her and leader, winning the NY State Fair showmanship and knowledge contests as a member of the Cayuga County Bunny Bunch.
4-Hers who already have rabbits or cavies are encouraged to bring one to get feedback on handling and showmanship. Please bring your animal in a solid bottom, leakproof carrier (no wire crates).
There is no fee for this event and it is open to all youth. Parents, please plan on remaining at the clinic with any youth 14 and under.
