SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator - Auburn, NY

The CCE Cayuga SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator will implement a menu of existing SNAP-Ed educational programs and program activities for residents of Cayuga and Seneca Counties. This position provides input into the planning for and conducts the implementation of public education to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices among low-income families and individuals encompassing all age groups throughout the Finger Lakes Region and Cayuga County. As part of the SNAP-Ed regional program, this position works closely with other members of the Northern Finger Lakes SNAP-Ed Team, including assisting the Project Director in Wayne County with program delivery. This position will be responsible for the delivery of established SNAP- ED programming to community groups and will deliver other established SNAP-ED programming and activities, both on-site and off-site, in the community, in accordance with the Nutrition Program Area’s Plan of Work. Also, this position will also coordinate all administrative aspects of the SNAP-ED Program and will assist the with marketing efforts for SNAP-ED programming.

  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hourly rate is $20.00 to $22.00 commensurate with experience. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave..
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education (Associate’s Degree and 2 years of transferable program/functional experience) or above, preferably in nutrition, dietetics, community and behavioral health, health education, public health, or nursing. This includes persons certified as RD, RDN, CCN, CNS, and RN as well as other individuals with coursework/experience in nutrition and/or health education with training and/or experience to communicating nutrition and obesity prevention topics.
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote office location, if needed.
