4-H Animal Science Educator (P/T)- Auburn, NY

This position will serve as the 4-H Animal Science Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association Cayuga County and will implement a menu of existing 4-H Animal Science programs and activities, both on-site and off-site in accordance with the 4-H Youth Development Program Area’s Plan of Work. This position will coordinate assigned administrative aspects of the 4-H Animal Science Program and will assist with marketing and fundraising efforts for 4-H Animal Science program. This position will also provide oversight to program volunteers.

  • This position is a part-time, non-exempt position, 20 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 to $20.50 commensurate with experience. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance NYS retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education (Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of transferable program/functional experience).
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and evaluate informal educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member working with volunteers and staff.
