Assistant Director

This position will serve as the Assistant Director for Cornell Cooperative Extension Cayuga County. The Assistant Director is expected to provide high level administrative leadership and management of the Association as well as high-level program development and delivery within Cornell and local policy directions. This position provides leadership in overall educational program development and implementation, establishes program priorities, and provides leadership for the ongoing development of a welcoming and inclusive organizational climate for diversity, and program integration across disciplines and within the broader Extension System. The goal for this position is to work closely with the Executive Director and Program Leads to strengthen programming within the Association across all disciplines, and to develop enhanced revenue streams to sustain and grow those programming efforts. A primary focus of attention will be the 4-H Youth Development and Nutrition subject areas. This position will also serve as leader of the 4-H program area and may provide limited direct programming as required.

  • This is a full time, 40 hours per week, benefits eligible, non-exempt position. 
  • The annual salary for this position is $60,000 to $64,000 commensurate with experience.
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Six (6) years related experience, which includes four (4) years’ experience in a leadership capacity relevant to the role of the position (PhD may substitute for 2 years of experience.)
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

4-H Issue Leader

This position will serve as the 4-H Youth Development Issue Leader for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association Cayuga County and  provide overall leadership in the planning, implementing and evaluating of educational programs in all areas of 4-H Youth Development throughout Cayuga County; Position will provide leadership and guidance to staff involved in  4-H Programming; Club Development (independent, county and school). This position will also have responsibility to develop, plan implement and evaluate in-depth educational programs in the areas of 4-H Youth Development throughout Cayuga County. This position will support program activities and requirements consistent with research based curriculums and information. This position will coordinate and support other programs and areas as appropriate. Various delivery methods will be used, including, but not limited to: teaching, consulting, training facilitators and volunteers, development and distribution of written materials, and through the use of multi-media efforts. Program assessment and evaluation, accountability and reporting are integral responsibilities of this position.

  • This is a full time, 40 hours per week, benefits eligible, non-exempt position.
  • The annual salary for this position is $56,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience.
  • Master’s Degree with appropriate subject matter specialization is required.
  • Four (4) years of related experience. (PhD may substitute for two (2) years of experience).
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
