Residents who are eager to learn more about recycling may register now to attend a FREE educational event presented by Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension, Schuyler County Planning Department, and Cayuga County Planning Department.
The event is titled “How To Recycle Right: Navigating the Recycling Industry” and takes place on Tuesday July 22nd, from 6:00-8:00pm. Participants may choose from two ways to attend:
Experts from higher education, state government and private industry will share information to help participants gain a better understanding of the current recycling industry. Topics covered will include: curbside single-stream, “return to store” recycling options, flow of recycling materials in New York State, regulated recycling facilities, the New York State Solid Waste Management Plan, and the challenges of hard-to-recycle materials like electronics and batteries.
