The Milk Bar is located inside the air-conditioned Dairy Products Building on the New York State Fairgrounds. Applicants hired for these positions will work shifts that total 6-to-8 hour/day, and must work at least 6 days during the 13-day run of the Fair. Those who wish to work more than 6 days can work as many extra days and hours as they are legally eligible to work based on their age. All hired staff must attend paid training on 8/21/23 and 8/22/23. Workers are responsible for their own transportation to the work site.

Primary responsibilities include operating a cash register, cash controls, customer service, educating the public about dairy and where the milk came from and letting youth know about the 4-H Youth Building. Applicants are required to work a minimum of 6 days of the 13 day fair and attend training on 8/21/23 and 8/22/23.

Summary: This position will work under the direction and supervision of the NYS Fair Milk Bar Manager. Primary responsibilities include stocking of supplies needed to pour milk at the milk bar; cleaning, and sanitizing workstations of the milk bar; sweeping and mopping milk bar area; trash removal; educating the public about dairy and where the milk came from, and letting youth know about the 4-H Youth Building. On a regular basis, the Milk Bar Stocker/Maintenance staff will inspect the Milk Bar for cleanliness, organization and refill supplies as needed. Applicants are required to work a minimum of 6 days of the 13-day fair and attend training on 8/21/23 and 8/22/23.
