Understanding the Benefit and Logistics of Dairy and Crop Farmers Sharing Manure

CCE Cayuga County, Cornell CALS PRO-DAIRY, and the SCNY Regional Dairy & Field Crops Team, will host their March shop meeting "Understanding the Benefit and Logistics of Dairy and Crop Farmers Sharing Manure." The event is designed to connect dairy and crop farmers interested in exploring manure-sharing arrangements as a practical strategy for reducing input costs and improving nutrient management on both sides of the equation. No registration is required — doors open at 12:30 PM.

The afternoon will feature presentations on the agronomic value of manure and nitrogen calculations, followed by a producer panel discussion covering real-world experiences with receiving and exporting manure, reducing commercial fertilizer costs, and overcoming common logistical barriers. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about contracts, record keeping, and how to get connected with a manure-sharing partner before the event wraps up at 3:00 PM.

No registration or cost, bring your camp chair and we will bring the coffee and donuts.
